Upon entering high school, Rashawn (Ray) King was a promising two-sport athlete in both football and basketball with college prospects and varsity letters. Then suddenly on June 14th, 2010, following complaints of sluggishness, weakness and unexplained pains, Ray went in for a checkup. It was revealed that he had Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. Ray was immediately checked into the University of North Carolina hospital, where he spent five weeks undergoing chemotherapy, spinal taps, and kidney dialys

Courageous, brave, dedicated, loving, and strong.These are just a few of the wonderful things that I could say about my brother. When Ray was told that he had cancer in June 2010. That changed our family and put a new perspective on life for me.
I have always veiwed cancer as a death sentence. My grandmother and uncle died of cancer. So with my brother that hit me like a ton of bricks.
