Juan Diego Temple has from birth been determined to be his own person. He was born with a large hemangioma which covered the entire left side of his face and neck. At two months the hemangioma was removed, and despite having spent weeks recovering from the surgery, Juan Diego, or JD, had a smile throughout. Juan Diego (JD) Temple is a senior at JSerra. He plays offensive and defensive line for the varsity football team as well as varsity volleyball. I had the honor of teaching and coaching JD for three yearsof his high school career before becoming Associate Director of Notre Dame's Play Like a Champion Today(R) Program in January.
JD is a wonderful young man of Catholic faith and integrity… not to mention he lost his father suddenly to colon cancer in the summer of 2010. T
