The rally cries and cheers echo from packed stadiums and fields as young athletes and fans enjoy their beloved sport. The passion is so intense it motivates young men and women to overcome obstacles even they didn't think was possible. And in the process, motivate their teammates and communities to rally behind them and their teams.
Daniel 'Rudy' Ruettiger has lived a life fueled by his passion for football. His desire to play for Notre Dame was so intense it took years of fierce determination to overcome repeated obstacles and criticism to fulfill his dream. His tireless journey to be part of the team, run through the tunnel and onto the field wearing the Notre Dame uniform has inspired countless others to "Dream Big and Never Quit!". His twenty-seven seconds of playing time has been parlayed into a lifetime of inspiration across several generations.
The High School Football Rudy Awards honor inspirational football players who best define what Rudy refers to as the "The Four C’s": Character, Courage, Contribution and Commitment. The Four Scholarship Winners will be chosen by you, the online fans, and our 2010 Selection Committee with distinguished members such as Drew Bledsoe, Jim Mora Sr., Andrea Kremer, Jenn Brown, Shaun Alexander and Leigh Anne Tuohy who’s story inspired the movie The Blind Side.
