Hagen loves sports. He has been fortunate to be able to play football, basketball, baseball, wrestle, and run track. But only one is his passion --- football.
From the time he played his first peewee football game, Hagen has loved football. It was that love that drove him to do whatever he could to make himself a better athlete. Participating in all the different sports provided Hagen additional skills that helped improve his physical ability on the football field.
In June of this summer, however, Hagen was dealt a major
set-back. He was involved in an accident which ruptured his intestine and bruised it badly enough that approximately six inches had to be removed. Hagen was extremely blessed to learn that after only six weeks of recovery, he would be able to return to normal activity and that included football! Mini-camp in August proved to be a major challenge because Hagen had lost muscle tone, stamina, and weight.
Hagen is now into the seventh week of the football season and has worked hard to maintain his starting position on offense and defense. With the Walsh Eagles at 6-0 and hopes to make it deep into the playoffs, you can count on Hagen doing his part to make it happen.
Character, courage, contribution, and commitment --- these are qualities that Hagen humbly possesses and applies to all areas of his life including academics, sports, and service.
We are so proud of Hagen and honored that he would be considered for the Rudy Award.
